Participation in Occupation 1
Course Aim
This course will enable students to focus on participation of people in meaningful occupation. People today are increasingly engaged in occupations that use technology. Students will explore the different ways technology can be used to bring about engagement in occupation of people who have occupational needs, and to consider how technology can be used to enhance therapy services to clients.
Learning Outcomes
At the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Describe the place of computer and digital technology as a tool for facilitating participation in occupation and enhancing therapy services.
2. Demonstrate competence in the production of a work using computer or digital technology.
3. Identify and consider ethical issues related to the use of technology with client groups.
4. Identify simple adaptations to the environment and software to enable clients to access technology.
